Governing Council

Governing Council

The governing council plays a critical role in ensuring our continued success – which naturally translates into our students’ successes.

The governing council is the formal parent body of Marryatville High School. It is highly regarded and recognised for its pro-active involvement in the educational advocacy and achievements of the school. Its many sub-committees provide support and direction for a range of school activities, including finance, asset management and strategic directions.

Decision making

Our policies and processes include all aspects of student health, welfare and academic studies and we embrace a consultative/democratic model which includes all members of the community or their chosen representatives. Staff, parents and students make up most of the bodies involved in the decision making, including the Policy Advisory committee, Strategic Planning committee, Student Representative Council (SRC), faculties, year level meetings, Occupational Health and Safety committee, and governing council. Project teams are also formed when needed.
